Science, Technology and Transport Group

The Science, Technology and Transport Group covers subjects as diverse as Astronomy to Zoology and Automobiles to Zeppelins, with the aim of reflecting the interests of members through the media of talks, discussions and visits.

The Group Co-ordinator is supported by a committee of three people.

Wednesday, 14 October. 14:00 / 16:00. Safety in medicine and aviation – talk at Frogmore Village
Hall by Colin Pincombe, Pauline and Chris Mills. Have you ever flown in a commercial aircraft or
been treated by the NHS? You may have wondered what are the relative risks of each. You might
be surprised at the answer. This talk reviews the comparative risks of medicine and aviation, how
they can be managed and whether each could learn from the other.

Tuesday, 24 November. Guided bird-watching cruise on the River Exe. Dep Exmouth 12:15.
