Out and About

Following random discussions at the Committee Meeting, it was decided to set up a group for members who found themselves on their own at the weekends.

The list at the Open meeting produced 28 signatures from interested people which seemed to justify the formation of the ‘Weekend Wanderers’ (subseuently renamed "Out and About"). Our first meeting was at Kingsbridge Care Hub and various thoughts and ideas were bounced around. It was thought that a spontaneous reaction could be achieved if a ‘What’s App’ Group was set up. Agreement has to be obtained from members for their mobile numbers to feature on this list, which some were reluctant to authorize. Meryl Spencer kindly agreed to set up the What’s App group and Gill Matthews has devised a rather smart logo for us.

Activities are also being sent out on email, but obviously these take longer to set up and organize.

So far we have met for Breakfast on Saturday morning at the Kingsbridge Care Hub, put forward a coffee morning and live Irish music on St Patrick’s Night on ‘What’s App’, a trip to My Fair Lady at Malborough and a suggestion to join me at the cinema to see David Tennent in ‘Good’.
