Kingsbridge Estuary

Bird-watching

Status:Active, open to new members
Coordinator:
Group email: Bird-watching group
When: Monthly on Fridays
2nd Friday monthly

The Group meets on the second Friday of the month. Sometimes, if there is a sighting of a good bird around, members may be invited to another day for an "unofficial meeting".

The group comprises 20 interested members, but numbers are limited according to the particular circumstances of a site. This has so far worked well, as all members have other commitments.

We usually meet at 9am and we share cars, starting from Warren Road, Kingsbridge. It is better for the environment, and parking at birding sites can be limited. Most meetings will finish by 2pm.

Walking boots and binoculars are essential and advice on the latter is available. Most meetings involve walking, sometimes on uneven terrain. A week in advance members receive an email with details of the planned visit and other relevant information.
