In the 80’s Woody became a children’s illustrator and went on to become an expert at willow sculpting. ‘The flow and weave that only willow can achieve is just beautiful to me, enabling me to create muscle tone and textures in my sculptures.’ After many years of sculpting, he migrated into using colours and also occasionally using fabrics, glass eyes and recycled metals.
