Dr. Todd Gray MBE

Dr Gray is a very popular speaker who, as an eminent historian has written over 48 books mostly about Devon and its history.

He will tell us, in his inimitable fashion, about emancipation in 1834 which brought about the end of slavery. Owners were compensated for the loss of their workforce and we will learn who in Devon were slave owners and how proportionate Devon was against the national average.
